Close On Your New Home, Conveniently
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to review and sign most of your mortgage loan documents from almost anywhere, at a time that’s most convenient for you? At Centris Federal Credit Union, we understand your time is valuable and we’ve made that process possible with our mortgage loan electronic closing.
What does an electronic closing mean?
An electronic closing, also known as eClosing or digital closing, is the ability to close on a mortgage loan digitally using your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer through a secure electronic environment. One thing to keep in mind with an electronic closing is that it doesn’t have to be 100% digital to be considered one. There are electronic closings that are partially electronic and partially paper.
So what used to take up to an hour at the title company will now have you in and out in about 15 minutes or less.
Below are some frequently asked questions regarding electronic closings. If you don’t see an answer to a question you have below, contact one of our mortgage loan experts and they’ll be happy to assist you!
Frequently Asked Questions About Electronic Closings
Why can't I sign my documents as soon as they arrive?
Signing on your closing date ensures that all documents are in alignment with your Mortgage Note and other legal documents associated with your purchase or refinance.Â
Why do I have to set up an account with a third party?
Centris uses a third-party vendor to ensure that our closing documents are compliant. Setting up your account provides you with the ability to log in and access your documents at your convenience before and after closing.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Centris carefully selects and monitors our third-party vendors to ensure that they maintain the most stringent, industry-standard security practices.
What if I have questions or corrections on my documents?
Please contact your Mortgage Loan Officer as soon as possible. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!
What if my closing date changes?
You will receive a new link to your closing documents with the updated closing date. Once you receive the new link, you can disregard the initial link that was sent.
Why am I not able to electronically sign all documents?
There are added layers of security that must be in place to maintain the authenticity of Mortgage Notes and notarized documents that contain electronic signatures. Centris is working with our vendor partners to be able to offer full electronic closings soon.
How long will my closing take?
Since you have reviewed your closing documents in advance, the signing process should take no more than 15 minutes.
